SIBU: Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii, presented a cheque for funding to the Sibu Golf Club yesterday (Sept 5).

The Repok assemblyman said that the funds are allocated to the club for improving its infrastructure facilities.

“This funding is not only a physical support for the club but also reflects the government’s commitment to promoting the development of local sports and tourism,” he said.

Huang, who is also an advisor to the Sibu Golf Club, noted that infrastructure improvements are crucial for enhancing the overall quality of the club.

“I hope that through this funding, the quality of the golf course will be improved, and more high-level players will be attracted to compete.

“At the same time, it provides a better venue experience for local golf enthusiasts,” he added.

He also emphasised that with the infrastructure upgrades, Sibu is expected to host regional golf events and attract local interest.
