RAJANG: Those who attended a funeral at Kampung Rejang in Tanjung Manis District last March 1 have begun their screening for Covid-19 in the compound of Kampung Rajang Mosque today (March 9).

Sarawak Public Communications Unit (Ukas) reported that more than 150 close contacts of those who attended the funeral have been identified, and those with symptoms have been advised to get tested immediately.

The screening is scheduled for three days, and authorities have also instructed the affected persons not to move away from their village.

Forty-five staff members of Mukah Health Office and Tanjong Manis Divisional Medical Office carried out the screening.

Civil Defence Force (APM) personnel, Tanjong Manis police, and People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) members were also present to control the operation.
