KUCHING: President to Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian who is also the Local Government Minister said SUPP’s third president the late Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr. Wong Soon Kai’s funeral procession will pass the SUPP Headquarters for party leaders and members to pay last respect of obeisance ceremony today at 7.30am at front portion of the car park.
He said it is a form of respect to the late Wong who had contributed so much to the party. Wong passed away at 4 am on March 22nd leaving behind his wife, Datin Patinggi Dr. Jane Yong, three children and many grandchildren to mourn his death. He was the first Sarawakian to graduate as a surgeon in Britain in 1959. Wong was also a deputy chief minister.
