OYA: The teams from Nafas PPFM from Mukah District dominated the just-concluded Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah Cup Futsal Competition on Tuesday evening.
Nafas PPFM A emerged champions after defeating Nafas PPFM B 2-0 in the entertaining final of the three-day event.
With the win, the A team took home RM2,000, the championship cup and medals, while the B team won RM1,000, a trophy and medals.
The third spot winner, Footsaltypo B, had to be contented with RM500, a trophy and medals, while fourth-placed FCFFT took home, RM200, and medals.
In the Women’s Category, the winner was Tibak Bouk (KFPJ) from Kuching. They received RM1,000, a trophy and medals.
First runner-up, Blue Lake (also from the state capital) brought home RM700, a trophy and medals. Third-spot winner, KSR DSYCO from Sibu won RM400, a trophy and medals.
A team from Dalat District, Chillex FT, in fourth place, received RM200 and medals.
Held at the multi-purpose hall of Kampung Terus Oya, the competition attracted 32 men’s teams and 12 women’s teams from Kuching, Miri, Sibu, Bintulu and Mukah divisions.
Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, who is also Dalat state assemblywoman, officiated at the prize presentation ceremony.
Also seen at the final of the fifth edition of DSHFA Futsal Competition were Temenggong Hendi Suhai, organising chairman Mohamad Nizam Meat and local community leaders.
