MIRI: A leaking gas valve was discovered near Permyjaya Phase 4 following a strong gas smell detected by residents in the area yesterday morning.
Fearing for their safety, the residents reported the matter to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba).
State Bomba director Khirudin Drahman said seven fire personnel, led by Hana Razali, were mobilised to the scene at 5.50am.
“Our personnel, alongside officers of Sarawak Gas, arrived at the location at 6am to plug the leaking gas valve.
“The operation was completed at 6.45am,” he said when contacted yesterday.
Khirudin added that based on inspections, no injuries were reported.
