KOTA SAMARAHAN: Harvest Fusion Festival 2024 is scheduled to take place from May 18 – 31, opens daily from 5 pm – 11 pm.
Organised by City Services Sdn Bhd in collaboration with CMD Sound and Light, the festival is not just an event, it’s an immersive celebration of Sarawak’s cultural richness, marketed as the Premium Gawai Festival.
“By blending traditional elements with contemporary trends, the festival aims to redefine the Gawai experience for modern audiences.
“Some of the key highlights of the festival include culinary delights, which is a fusion of flavours as all participating vendors incorporate Gawai or Ethnic-themed recipes into their menus, offering a culinary journey that celebrates Sarawak’s diverse gastronomic heritage.
“Most importantly, the diverse entertainment, to which it anticipates an audience of 2000 – 3000 people daily, the festival aims to bridge generational divides and cater to the varied interests of attendees,” City Service said in its press statement.
City Service added that the highlight of the opening day will be the unprecedented collaboration between At Adau and Baby Dream Machine, two musical powerhouses, showcasing a fusion of music that transcends genres, generations, and traditions.
“The lineup will also feature performances by local talents including Lock and Load, BAMA Talents, Trinity, 11th Minute, and more, as well as traditional elements like the Leleng Parade and contemporary dance performances,” it added.
It stated that attendees will be treated to the Gawai Countdown event, accompanied by the ceremonial sealing of the Tuak jar, heralding the commencement of preparations for the Harvest Fusion Festival 2025 celebrations.
“This urban Gawai countdown promises to be a unique and unforgettable experience, marking the conclusion of this year’s festivities on a high note.
“Join us at the Harvest Fusion Festival 2024 as we celebrate tradition, diversity, and innovation in a vibrant fusion of music, food, and entertainment,” it said.
