KUCHING: Local company Socoe Sdn Bhd yesterday hosted a Gawai-Raya luncheon which featured famous Sarawakian delicacies as well as Western food at its office in Bangunan Opulent here.
Socoe is the system provider for the recent eWanita-JWKS Platform; a social community programme which aimed to help Sarawakian women bring their businesses online through eWanita’s online marketplace, ePreneurs.
“Understanding and appreciating the digital gap in Sarawak, Socoe focuses on basic skills in guiding the women entrepreneurs step-by-step in order to elevate the overall economy, focusing on micro, cottage and small industries, the company said in a
statement.
“As such, one of the main attractions of this Gawai-Raya event is a display table beautifully decorated with cakes and biscuits crafted by the women of eWanita, many of whom were also in attendance,” the statement added.
Socoe’s drive for digital reformation is aligned with the state’s digital economy initiative, as well as Visit Sarawak Year 2019 to make those authentic Sarawakian
products accessible.
Among those present at the event was Kuching North City Commission (DBKU) mayor Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai.
