KUCHING: This 15th general election (GE15) is an opportunity for Malaysia to reset towards a better country.
In saying this, Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak chairman and Stampin incumbent Chong Chieng Jen said the people must vote wisely in order to have good economic policies and a country with good governance.
“Today, we are here to elect a federal government and this election is the time for Malaysia to reset and for us to rebuild the country,” he said.
Chong said this during the DAP Sarawak political talk in conjunction with the general election held at Premier 101 Commercial Centre on yesterday (Nov 5) evening.
Also speaking at the talk was Bandar Kuching incumbent Dr Kelvin Yii who called upon voters to cast their votes for Pakatan Harapan (PH).
“We are here not to say that Barisan Nasional (BN) or Perikatan Nasional (PN) is bad. But, PH, we are better, a better government where we can address a lot of the issues faced by the people,” he said.
Therefore, he hoped voters would give PH another chance which will form a good government and that truly understands the hardship of the people.
“Give PH one more chance. This is the best chance for us to change the government.
“That is why, we must also make sure that Bandar Kuching, Stampin, Lanang, Sibu, Sarikei, Bintulu, Mas Gading, and Serian seats win (under DAP) to ensure that we can form a strong PH government,” said Dr Yii.
