KUCHING: Petra Jaya incumbent Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof remained tight-lipped about who will run in the upcoming parliamentary election.
“The Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) chairman (Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg) should answer that question. Ask him and wait for his announcement,” he said.
He said this when met by reporters after officiating the Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof Tennis Tournament Cup’s closing ceremony at Sarawak Bumiputera Tennis Association complex here today.
For the record, Fadillah who is the GPS chief whip and Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president, has been a four-term Member of Parliament since winning the seat in the 11th General Election (GE11) in 2004.
In previous general election (GE14), he defended the parliamentary seat with a majority of 28,306 votes, defeating Datuk Ir Dr Nor Irwan Ahmat Nor of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Hamdan Sani of Parti Islam SeMalaysia (PAS).
