KOTA PADAWAN: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) senior vice president Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom has described the Gabungan Parti Sarawak 15th General Election (GE15) manifesto as realistic and can be fulfilled.

He said the state ruling coalition is able to implement what it promised as the party had done when its manifesto was presented during the last state election.

“You see, when we presented the manifesto during the recent state election, it has been proven that (many) of the promises have been done.

“Therefore, for the upcoming election, I am sure that it can be further fulfilled because the focus is still the same,” he said.

He said this at a press conference after officiating the launch of the Jalin Tani Carnival and Agriculture Skills and Training Centre at the Institute of Agriculture here today (Nov 7).

The Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Minister also said the manifesto is people-centric and focuses on developing Sarawak.

“However, we did not refer to the manifesto as our ‘bible’ so we cannot promise things that are unrealistic just to attract the voters.

“There are tons of projects that we wanted to do during this period of time. Even if certain circumstances such as the pandemic had happened, that does not mean that we should use that as an excuse.

“So, whatever promises that have been pledged should be fulfilled,” he said.

At the same time, he also expressed hope for the new federal government to continue focusing on the development of infrastructure in Sarawak.

“This requires a truly huge fund, and at the same time it is a responsibility between both the state and federal government. We must do it collectively,” he pointed out.
