KANOWIT: Five candidates will contest for the Kanowit parliamentary seat in the 15th General Election (GE15).
The contenders are Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang from Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS); Mohd Fauzi Abdullah @ Joseph Nyambung from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR); and three Independent candidates namely Michael Lias, Chen Nguk Fa, and Dr Elli Luhat.
Aaron was the first candidate who came to the nomination centre at the Kanowit District Office. He was accompanied by his proposer Penghulu Ron Ugai and seconder Penghulu Ugap Seribu.
Shortly after, Fauzi arrived along with his proposer Rumbuk Jeling and seconder David Simon Tat.
Michael, on the other hand, arrived at the centre along with his proposer Retel Labang and seconder Enggu Jok.
Chen was accompanied by his proposer Dublin Dagang and seconder Suzie Buah, while Elli came with his proposer Jali Linggang and seconder Judy Ngan.
The said nomination process for all candidates was successful with no applications being rejected.
