SARATOK: The mesmerising performance presented by Gemalau Tandang Tari crowned the team from Pusa as the winner of the Sarawak Traditional Ethnic Dance Competition in conjunction with the Saratok Festival 2023 at the Sri Kalaka Main Stage, last night.

The victory qualified the young dancer to take home a cash prize of RM1,000 and a trophy.

While the runner-up was Tari Canda Kirana from Saratok and won a prize of RM800 and a trophy.

Kumang Pegari Saratok group in third place received a prize of RM600.

While consolation prizes were given to Nengkadah Bulan, Kumang Pegari and Bujang Berani Nguji and the Girl Fly group.

Mohamad Duri presented a prize to Gemalau Tandang Tari who won the Sarawak Traditional Ethnic Dance Competition in conjunction with the Saratok Festival 2023 at the Sri Kalaka Main Stage, last night.

Also taking place on the same night is the Ethnic Queen Competition.

The Contemporary Ethnic Queen Award was won by Rosiah.

He brought home a cash prize of RM1,000 along with a trophy, scarf, crown and jewellery.

While Anita was in second place who won a prize of RM800 along with a trophy, scarf and jewellery.

Delfiana was third, who went on to win RM1,000 plus trophy, scarf and jewellery.

Prizes for the winners were presented by Assemblyman Kalaka Mohamad Duri and also present were Assemblyman Krian Friday Belik as well as Chairman of the Saratok Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIS) Datuk Abdul Wahab Aziz and Saratok District Officer Haron Mahidi.
