SIBU: Highly anticipated technology entertainment event Gen Z Festival will be held at the University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) from Feb 24 to 25.
Organised by students from UTS’ School of Foundation Studies, the event will create an engaging ecosystem that fosters the diverse talents and interests among the youths.
“We are dedicated to providing Generation Z with a platform where they can showcase their talents, explore their interests, and connect with like-minded individuals.”
“Our goal is to create an inclusive and vibrant space that celebrates the unique qualities and passions of Generation Z,” the organising committee said in a statement on Saturday (Feb 3).
The festival targeted to unite a diverse community of over 500 participants, offering a fusion of education, inclusivity, talent recognition, and knowledge exchange.
Highlights of the festival include engaging discussions and talks by invited guests; major figures and influencers from the e-sports industry who will share their insights and expertise with attendees.
The first day of the event will feature activities across the campus area, including the LTC Hallway for vendors and classrooms for e-sports competitions. E-sports enthusiasts can look forward to thrilling tournaments in popular titles such as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBGM), and Valorant, with teams competing for prestige and prizes.
On the second day, activities will shift to the Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud, where the focus will be on esports, technology exhibitions, and innovation competitions.
The Technology Exhibition and Innovation & Invention (TXI) competition will provide participants with the opportunity to showcase their groundbreaking ideas and inventions.
“We are excited to host a wide range of activities, from esports tournaments to innovation competitions, to cater to the diverse interests of Generation Z.”
“Through open-mic sessions and vendor areas, we aim to foster a sense of community and collaboration among participants,” the committee said.
With a targeted participation of 32 MLBB teams, 64 PUBGM teams, 8 Valorant teams, and 20 TXI teams, this event promises to be a gathering of Generation Z’s brightest minds and talents.
