SADONG JAYA: Apart from the members of the police, army, health and related agencies, the general public are also the frontliners in curbing the spread of Covid-19.

Simunjan assemblyman Awla Dris said the role of the general public is no less important like the other frontliners as they must adopt and comply with the standard operating procedures (SOPs) set by the government.

“People must always wear face masks while in public places, practise social distancing and regularly wash their hands with water and soap or use hand sanitiser.

“The SOP should be complied with because any non-compliance not only endangers family members, relatives but it also exposes the local community to Covid-19 infection, especially in this district,” said the people’s representative.

He said this when officiating at the Sepakat@Komuniti programme entitled “Pembudayaan Norma Baharu: Putuskan Rantaian Covid-19” at Dewan Kampung Senangeh, Simunjan here recently.

Awla also praised the government’s efforts and measures, especially those played by all agencies involved such as the Information Department, Health Department, Police and other departments that work together to curb the spread of the virus.
