KUCHING: Gersik A team emerged champions of Datuk Seri Hajah Nancy Shukri’s Cup 2018 team badminton championship held over the weekend.
In the final, Gersik A team defeated ALBA Red team 2-0 to bring home a cash prize of RM2,500, a challenge trophy, an accompany trophy and medals. As runners-up ALBA Red team received a cash prize of RM1500, a trophy and medals.
Combine X A and Alba Hijau teams were joint third winners to take home a cash prize of RM400, a trophy and medals each respectively. Meanwhile, four teams who qualified for the quarter-finals namely KBKS A (Lundu), KBS A (Semera), Combine X B and Gersik B received consolation cash prizes worth RM150 each.
A total of 22 teams participated in the competition organised by the Sarawak Bumiputra Badminton Association (PBBS) at Dewan PBBS, here.
