KUCHING: Deputy Director General (Entrepreneurship) of Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) Datuk Zulfikri Osman, kicked off a five-day working visit to Sarawak with a tour of a MARA-guided entrepreneur’s premises in Miri.
Sixteen Twentynine Sdn Bhd, owned by Kartini Sarkawi and Siti Hawa Sarkawi, was the first stop on his itinerary.
This company, established in 2015, produces a variety of frozen food items, including curry puffs and kelupis, under the Rania brand.
“Their products are sold in over 70 supermarkets throughout Malaysia and Brunei,” MARA said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 25).
The company received business financing assistance through MARA’s Easy Success Scheme (SPiM) in 2023.
Additionally, MARA provided certification grants for GMP and HACCP certifications, as well as product packaging grants.
During his visit, Zulfikri was briefed by Kartini on the company’s operations and future plans.
He also officiated at the launch of their latest product, Kelupis Sambal Tahai, a ready-to-eat item that will be marketed internationally.
Also present were Sarawak MARA director A Razu Abdul Razak, director of Commercial Infrastructure Zahari Aziz, Business Financing director Timelow Jauk and MARA management team.
