SIBU: Make yourself free on July 14; the occasion: the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department mini carnival in conjunction with the Fire Safety Campaign where you will get tips on fire safety.
The event is from from 7.30 am to 5 pm.
Fire and Rescue Department Zone 4 chief Andy Alie said while the programme aims to foster a harmonious and friendly relationship between the department and the local community, it is also to create fire safety awareness.
“It aims to promote fire safety awareness among visitors, especially those living far from fire stations, like in Dalat for example,” he said in a statement today.
He urged the public to participate in the programme, which will be held at the Dalat Waterfront.
Minister for Women, Childhood, and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah, is expected to launch the event.
“Activities organised for the campaign include a children’s colouring competition, public speaking, an exhibition, and more,” said Andy.
