BETONG: What a way to introduce Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Betong candidate to branch members through a fun sport activity here at Betong Sports Complex.
The Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Layar Branch Women’s Movement here on Friday (Nov 11) organised a fun sports event and at the same time to introduce its Betong candidate, Dr Richard Rapu @ Aman Begri.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurship Development who is also Layar assemblyman Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu, who used the opportunity to introduce and encourage supporters to back its candidate.
“This is a relaxed sports programme with the objective of strengthening relations between three state constituencies under Betong.
“At the same time, we also use the occasion to introduce Dr Richard Rapu so that they know who to support and vote,” said Rentap when met by New Sarawak Tribune at the sport complex on the same day (Friday).
According to him, through the effort of organising such event, representatives from every PBB Sub-Branch Women’s Movement in Betong can have a chance to get to know their candidate.
“The women from the Women’s movement in Betong partook in the event here. What is important is that they now know who Dr Richard is,” he added.
Earlier, Rentap also reminded PBB women members to play their role to ensure that voters in their respective areas fulfil their responsibilities on the actual polling day.
