SERIAN: A family in Kampung Rimba Padi here was shocked to discover a 13-foot-long king cobra coiled inside their storehouse today (Jan 30).
Concerned for their safety, the family quickly contacted the authorities at 12.25 pm for assistance in capturing the reptile.
A spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said that firefighters from the Serian station were immediately dispatched to the scene following a distress call.
Upon arrival, they confirmed the presence of the reptile in the store and began the capture using a snake tong.
The team took about 25 minutes to safely subdue the king cobra without any incidents.
Then, the reptile was released back into its natural habitat. The operation concluded at 1.27 pm.
