KUCHING: The 59th annual conference and general meeting of the Girl Guides Association Malaysia (PPPM) 2024 here will be officially inaugurated by the Royal Patron of Girl Guides Malaysia, Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah.
This significant event is set to take place from June 27 to 29 at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK), with PPPM president Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail chairing the 59th annual general meeting.
Chairlady of the PPPM Sarawak branch, Datuk Dayang Morliah Awang Daud, said the event was expected to attract around 300 association members in Malaysia.
“During their time here, the delegates will attend the conference and the highlight events, which include the inauguration and the annual general meeting,” she said.
She told the media this following a courtesy call on the wife of the Head of State, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi at Astana Negeri Sarawak yesterday (June 21).

Additionally, several distinguished branch chairladies are also expected to attend, including Raja Puan Muda Perak, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Soraya Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, Yang Amat Mulia Datin Seri Ramlah Azizah Almarhum Sultan Nasirudin Shah from Terengganu, and Yang Mulia Datuk Tengku Shireen Tengku Suleiman from Perlis.
Complementing the conference and meeting, a variety of other events will be held, such as the Royal Banquet, Dinner Gala, and visits to the Centre for Technology Excellence Sarawak (CENTEXS) and the Borneo Cultures Museum.
