SARATOK: A man’s glue fix ended up costing him his life after he fell into a drain behind a shop lot here.

Saratok OCPD DSP Mordani Tanin said the 35-year-old man was found inside the drain and his identity was confirmed by his next-of-kin.

They confirmed that the victim had been addicted to glue sniffing for a long time.

“CCTV footage showed that the victim was alone sniffing glue beside a ditch behind the shop lot.

“When he was trying to get up, the victim staggered and fell into the drain.

“He was seen struggling to get up but was unsuccessful due to the narrow condition of the drain. It is believed that he was trapped in the drain,” DSP Mordani said in a statement today.

He added that initial investigation at the scene found that the victim had light scratches and bruises, believed to be from the impact sustained when falling into the drain.

“Also found were a can of glue and two empty plastic bags used by the deceased to sniff glue.
