LUNDU: The people have been urged to go for regular check-ups as it is important in early detection of any diseases.
Tanjong Datu assemblyman Azizul Annuar Adenan said this is crucial in maintaining good health.
“It is important for us to make health screenings as an investment for the future as we want the people to live in a healthy condition when they grow old.
“This is also looking at the population of the elderly aged 60 and above will increase by 15 per cent of the entire population by 2030.
He said this during the ‘Jalinan Mesra Pakar Perubatan Keluarga Sarawak’ (Friendly network of Sarawak family physicians) programme with the Lundu community at Kampung Sekambal.
Azizul added Sarawak has a comprehensive development plan to ensure the quality of life of the people of Sarawak to be in a healthy and prosperous condition.
Meanwhile, the programme is held in conjunction with the 25th celebration of the Family Medicine Specialist Association (FMSA).
Held in collaboration with Tanjong Datu Service Centre, Lundu District Health Office and other agencies, it also provided health consultation for the locals in Lundu.
