KUCHING: Festive periods are always a great opportunity for entrepreneurs to market their products and extend their business network.
Sarawak Bumiputera Chamber of Entrepreneurs (DUBS) president Datuk Abang Helmi Ikhwan commended the entrepreneurial spirit of the Bumiputera community.
“There are a lot of Bumiputera businesses starting up now, especially during Gawai and Hari Raya this year,” he said in an interview with New Sarawak Tribune.
Abang Helmi highlighted the abundance of Ramadan bazaars set up during the festive season.
“There were hundreds in Kuching alone!” he remarked.
“It’s a great opportunity for entrepreneurs as this is the time when people need to buy new clothes and other goods to prepare for the celebrations,” commented Abang Helmi.
The DUBS president then extended his advice towards the community to continue with their entrepreneurial efforts.
“Hopefully they will continue with their businesses even after the festive season. They should treat it as their everyday career – they can even venture into retail,” he encouraged.
