LUNDU: The Sarawak General Operations Force (GOF) nabbed nine Indonesians for entering the state illegally last Saturday.
In a statement issued, a team from the GOF 11th Battalion carried out an operations dubbed Ops Benteng Covid at 7.45am.
Based on information received, the team inspected an eatery near the Biawak Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) complex where they found the foreigners hiding behind the eatery.
They were believed to have entered Sarawak via an illegal trail (jalan tikus) at Ladang Pasir Jaya, Pasir Jaya.
All of them failed to produce any entry permit documents to Malaysia and had committed offenses under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Act 1988 (Act 342) and Section 6(1) of the Immigration Act 1959 (Act 155).
The foreigners have been ordered to return to Indonesia.
