KUCHING: Hope Place Kuching ‘Back to School’ project has received great response from the public.
Due to generous supporters of the cause, about 30 schoolchildren aged 7 to 17 recently went shopping with Hope Place representatives and their sponsors to buy school uniforms and shoes.
Generous sponsors bought each of the 30 schoolchildren two sets of uniforms and shoes.
The project’s main purpose is to ease the financial burdens of low income and underprivileged families as well as encourage schoolchildren to be excited about school and studies.
The project, which started in October and will end on Dec 31, encourages members of the public to sponsor either primary or secondary schoolchildren.
All essential school necessities such as school uniforms, school bags, and stationery are included in the sponsorship programme.
The project had also received school bags and stationery from donors.
Currently there are more than 120 underprivileged schoolchildren under the care of Hope Place Kuching.
