KUCHING: Members of the public here agreed that the state government should restrict movements from the Southern Zone districts to other districts in Sarawak.

The Southern Zone consists of Kuching, Bau, Lundu, Samarahan, Asajaya, Simunjan, Serian and Tebedu districts.

The Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said the crossing of districts was only allowed if the individuals obtained police permits and showed negative results of the rapid reaction (rT-PCR) test or RTK Antigent test approved by the Ministry of Health.

I agree with these restrictions and the rT-PCR test requirement which is for detecting viruses to curb the spread of the pandemic.

It is a wise move by the government to limit cross-district travels from the Southern Zone except for important matters. The RT-PCR testing is mandatory considering the increase in Covid-19 cases which is worrying.

I agree with the action taken by the government as individuals are responsible for stopping the spread of the pandemic. With the standard operating procedures we can break the transmission of the virus.

I agree with the restrictions on movements with the help of RT-PCR tests to detect infections in individuals. This should help curb the spread of the pandemic.

Limiting cross-district movements can minimise the spread of the pandemic, but the government needs consider people who must travel such as lorry drivers should not have to under the rT-PCR or RTK Antigen test every time they move from place to place.

I strongly support the move to allow only individuals who have negative test transcripts of rT-PRC test results and RTK Antigen test to cross to other districts. These procedures will ensure that the pandemic is under control.
