MIRI: Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) Miri Division has confiscated items worth RM503, 809.80 followed by 121 cases produced from Jan 1 until Dec 21, this year.
Miri Division KPDNHEP Chief, Joe Azmi Jamil revealed that 301 complaints have been received and completed by the Consumer Complaints Unit of KPDNHEP Miri Division.
“Most of the complaints mainly involving issues of online transactions, service fraud and price descriptions,” he said during his walkabout inspection, in conjunction with the festive season price scheme at Boulevard Hypermarket and Departmental Store (The Imperial Mall) in Miri today.
Joe Azmi also highlighted that KPDNHEP Miri Division issued a total of RM63,100 compounds from Jan 1 until today, under various offences such as not placing price tags, price descriptions, piracy, online transactions, service fraud, and counterfeit goods.
“Not only that, KPDNHEP Miri Division also conducted inspection of the premises in both rural and city areas.
“Also since Jan 1 until Dec 22, 5,304 premises in the city areas has been inspected, followed by 1,908 premises in rural areas,” he continued.
Joe Azmi assured supplies and basic necessities are sufficient in conjunction with the Christmas celebrations.
