BINTULU: The Sarawak government is committed to increase the income of farmers in the state to RM6,000 a month by 2030.
Agriculture Modernisation and Regional Development Minister Datuk Seri Dr Stephen Rundi Utom said this is by modernising the processes of farmers to increase their efficiency.
“Modernisation is where machines are doing the work done by the farmers, this will allow them to get larger yields,” he said.

Dr Rundi also pledged that he will continue to instill changes for the sake of the rural community through his ministry.
At the same time, he also announced the allocation of the minor rural project (MRP) grants worth RM20,000 to the longhouse’s village development and security committee (JKKK) and RM15,000 to its women’s bureau.
