SARIKEI: The Sarawak government has allocated large funds for the development of school infrastructure and education, said Repok assemblyman Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii.

Currently, he said the government was actively implementing road construction projects from Sarikei to Tanjung Manis, agro projects, agricultural produce collection centres and many more.

“The implementation of various new development projects here shows that the government is committed to providing facilities for local residents.

“As the people’s representative, I will try to apply for allocations to implement various people’s projects in Repok constituency, including upgrading church infrastructure, temples and others.

“I will also continue to donate patients’ beds and school supplies including bags and uniforms to help ease the burden of parents.

“I always emphasise the importance of education and will continue to help in my capacity as an elected representative,” he said.

Huang was addressing a meet-the-people session held at Sarikei Civic Centre on Tuesday night.
