KUCHING: The National Resilience College (NRC) hosted a Diners Club event at the Hilton Hotel Kuching on August 22, focusing on good governance practices.

The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, graced the Diners Club session.
The Commandant of NRC, Major General Datuk Johnny Lim Eng Seng, expressed his gratitude for Wan Junaidi’s attendance at the Diners Club in Kuching this year.

“For our five years of existence, we have, for the first time, had the privilege of having the Head of State grace our Diners Club this evening,” he said in his opening speech.

Additionally, Johnny mentioned that since NRC’s inception in 2019, the course modules have always focused on the pillars of the National Security Policy (DKN) 2021-2025.

“This year, the focus of the fifth cohort is on the fourth pillar of the DKN 2021-2025, which centres on good governance,” he added.
Sarawak was chosen because it aligns with this year’s theme, as Sarawak is renowned for its effective governance.

“Sarawak is indeed a success story, famed for its good governance, policies, strong economic fundamentals, and above all, the unity among the diverse cultural communities,” he added in his speech.

Also present at the event were Lieutenant General Datuk Mohd Sofi Mohd Lepi, the Eastern Field Commander of the Malaysian Army, and Major General Datuk Mohamed Fauzi Kamis, Commander of the Malaysian 1st Infantry Division.

For the record, the NRC is the highest educational institution within the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) and is responsible for providing Professional Military Education to senior ATM officers from all three branches of the ATM, with the rank of Brigadier General or Colonel, focusing on the study of Malaysia’s Elements of National Power and DKN 2021-2025.

The college’s curriculum is designed to focus on Grand Strategic Education, where course members are exposed to policies and current issues at both national and international levels.

Currently, the college is on its fifth cohort, with 18 senior officers from the three ATM services and four officers from Indonesia, India, Nigeria, and Singapore representing foreign armed forces.
