KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar arrived in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday to attend a royal wedding reception of His Majesty Sultan of Pahang’s daughter.
Accompanied by his wife Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, they landed at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang at 5 pm, having travelled on a special flight from Sibu Airport.
“Their arrival marks the commencement of their participation in the prestigious event celebrating the royal nuptial,” said a statement issued by Astana Negeri Sarawak on Sunday.
They are set to join the reception on Sunday night with other esteemed guests in celebrating the union of the royal couple at a prominent hotel in Kuala Lumpur.
“The attendance highlights the close ties between Sarawak and Pahang,” it said.
The wedding reception is in honour of Her Highness Tengku Puteri Raja Tengku Puteri Afzan Aminah Hafidzatullah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, and her partner, FD Idzham Datuk Seri FD Iskandar.
The event signifies the ongoing collaboration and strong relationship between the royal families and states, showcasing the unity and cultural heritage shared by the Malaysian community.
