KUCHING: The Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr. Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, received a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA) at the Astana on Wednesday.
RECODA’s chief executive officer Datuk Ismawi Ismuni, who led the delegation, said the courtesy visit was primarily to inform Wan Junaidi about the development authority’s functions and roles.
He said that there are three agencies under RECODA, namely the Upper Rajang Development Agency (URDA), Highland Development Agency (HDA), and Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA).
“RECODA’s activities include aspects of investment, the implementation of socio-economic and development projects, as well as assistance initiatives for the hardcore poor,” he said.
Later, Wan Junaidi also received a courtesy visit from the Mowe (Mao) Sha Liong descendant delegation.
Chairman of the organising committee, Cecil Adnan, said the purpose of the courtesy visit was to invite Wan Junaidi to attend the 7th Mowe Convention Festival, which will take place in Kuching from July 5 to 7.
“Wan Junaidi is an honorary member of the Mowe Family,” he said.
