KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, will attend the 2024 state level Malaysia Day celebration at the Indoor Stadium, Sri Aman Sports Complex, on Sept 16.

Education, Innovation, and Talent Development Minister Datuk Seri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, who is also the minister responsible for the celebration, announced that the festivities in Sri Aman will begin on Sept 14 with an Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony at the Sri Aman Civic Centre.

Later that evening, the ‘Konsert Cinta Malaysia, Segulai Sejalai’ will take place at the Sri Aman Riverbank.

On Sept 15, another thanksgiving ceremony will be held at the Bandar Sri Aman Mosque, with an expected attendance of 1,000 people.

Sagah shared these details after paying a courtesy visit to Wan Junaidi at Astana Negeri today (Sept 5).

Also present at the courtesy call were Deputy Minister in charge Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Sarawak Protocol, Ceremony, and Event Management Unit (UPPANS) director Hamdan Sharbini, Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) director Samuel Simon, Unit for Other Religions Affairs (UNIFOR) director Datuk Georgina Apphia Ngau, and Sarawak Islamic Affairs Department (JAIS) deputy director Abang Borhanuddin Abang Ahmad Masuine.

Earlier today, Wan Junaidi also received a courtesy call from the management of University College Sedaya International (UCSI) led by Group CEO Datuk Dr Siti Hamisah Tapsir

The courtesy call aimed to update Wan Junaidi on the latest developments regarding UCSI’s Kuching Branch.

Joining the delegation were UCSI Group founder and executive chairman Datuk Peter Ng, UCSI Healthcare Group chairman Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, and special assistant to the UCSI Group founder and executive chairman Christopher Byran Ng.
