KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife, Toh Puan Fauziah Mohd Sanusi arrived in Brunei Darussalam for a three-day official work visit starting today (June 23).
The couple landed at Brunei International Airport at 12 noon and was welcomed by Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Datuk Seri Setia Shamhary Pengiran Datuk Paduka Mustapha.
The official welcoming ceremony began with Wan Junaidi inspecting the Guard of Honor consisting of members of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
The Governor and wife visited the Royal Instrument Museum in the afternoon.
In the evening, they were scheduled to attend a dinner with the Sarawak diaspora at the Malaysian High Commission Office in Bandar Seri Bagawan.
Wan Junaidi will have a meeting with His Majesty Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien at the Palace Nurul Iman at 11.30 am tomorrow (June 24).
After the meeting, Wan Junaidi will visit the Islamic Treasure Hall of Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah at Jalan Pengiran Babu Raja at 3pm, then attend a dinner thereafter.
On the third day, the couple along with their entourage will visit the Brunei History Centre and tour the Brunei River before returning to Sarawak at 2.30pm.
Accompanying Wan Junaidi on the official work visit are Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and State Secretary, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki.
