KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) is all set for the upcoming 15th General Election (GE15) including campaigning during the election.
Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas said that the state ruling party is ready with its machinery already on the ground and ready to face the election.
“GPS has always been complying with the rules by Election Commission (EC) and its decision, therefore it won’t be any issue about the 14 days of campaigning,” he said.
He said this when speaking to the reporters after officiating at the launching of a book titled ‘Anthology of Indigenous People’s Issues’ at Pullman Hotel yesterday.
Earlier at the event, Uggah mentioned that the Dayak Cultural Foundation (DCF) has assisted with a scholarship of RM2.2 million with the substantial assistance of RM1 million, a full scholarship of another million and also sending Dayak students for courses with RM1.2 million and contributions related to it of RM1.3 million.
He also thanked Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg for his continuous support to the Dayak community with further developments taking place such as the construction of the Panggau Dayak building.
