SIBU: Nangka assemblyman Dr Annuar Rapaee recently provided aid to two Dayak non-governmental organisations (NGO) here on Monday.

The two NGOs are Sarawak Dayak National Union (SDNU) Sibu and Sarakup Indu Dayak Sarawak (SIDS) Sibu.

Annuar, who is also Education, Science and Technological Research Assistant Minister, had allocated RM10, 000 worth of grants to both NGOs.

He also provided RM5, 000 worth of grants to the Gawai Dayak Sibu committee which is to be spent as incentives for overachieving Dayak students in examinations.

Annuar described the allocation given as proof that the state government led by Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), had always been fair in aiding NGOs.

He added that GPS continues to support similar organisations to play a role in their communities.

“I am always concerned with the needs of these organisations. SDNU and SIDS are pretty well-known and established here in Sarawak.

“This is GPS. We will help anyone regardless of who they are. The spirit of unity in diversity continues to strengthen this state under GPS’ governance,” he said.
