SIBU: Datuk Dr Jerip Susil’s departure from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is seen as a sign of solidarity within Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Bawang Assan branch chief Romeo Christopher Tegong said in joining GPS the former PSB No. 2 will inject fresh energy and strength into the state ruling coalition.
“What is clear is it is an affirmation for GPS under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg,” said Romeo when contacted for his comment yesterday.
He said Dr Jerip surely has triggered a major unease in PSB and would not be surprised if the party’s other Dayak elected representatives — vice president Engkilili assemblyman Johnical Rayong, senior vice president Opar assemblyman Datuk Ranum Mina and Simanggang MP Datuk Masir Kujat — would do the same soon.
