KUCHING: Pelagus assemblyman Wilson Nyabong insists the crisis now in play is Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) crisis.
“It is not Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) or Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) crisis alone, but a Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) problem now,” Wilson said in response to a “PRS crisis’ news headline.
He argued that it is GPS crisis because outsiders are now pinching members and seats from under its nose.
Wilson also said he agrees whole-heartedly with Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg that the crisis is “not a straightforward issue, but an inherited problem”.
He said indeed the problem was inherited by GPS from Barisan Nasional (BN) which no longer exists in Sarawak.
He said GPS being a brand new coalition with its own set of principles and belief must be courageous to subscribe to a new formula to resolve the problem.
“If not, then GPS components will start to assume that it is better to be GPS-friendly where you get all the perks with no liability and consequences to what you do.
“In this aspect, I believe in the principle of solidarity ‘You touch one of us, you touch all’,” he pointed out.
“I would also like to put the record straight. A newspaper reported that both Datuk William Nyallau Badak and Datuk Joseph Entulu Belaun were sacked from PRS because they went against the candidates’ list.
“I need to correct this. The main reason Entulu was sacked is because he helped oppositions to whack our own PRS candidates in the previous state election. And I do not think any political party can condone this,” he said.
He added that Entulu had joined Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) since last May 13 as reported in the local newspaper, including Datuk Sylvester Entri.
“So Entulu joining Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) is not a PRS problem but a PKR’s problem,” he stressed.
