Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof has clarified that there is a standing directive prohibiting GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) from participating in state elections outside of Sarawak.

Consequently, for the state elections (PRN) to be held in six states across the Peninsular, GPS maintained its stance of non-involvement in direct campaigning activities.

Nevertheless, Fadillah emphasised that he, along with the Cabinet ministers and deputy ministers from the Unity Government, are diligently carrying out their ministry’s programmes without engaging in election campaigning.
