BINTULU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has opted for a more straightforward campaign approach, preferring direct engagement with the people in longhouses and urban centres rather than large-scale rallies.
GPS election director Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan disclosed this strategy when questioned about the possibility of organising major campaign rallies as the election campaign approaches its conclusion.
“We favour face-to-face interactions with the people, and our teams have been assigned specific areas for public meetings.
“We are dedicated to intensifying our campaign efforts and schedules,” he said to reporters at Rumah Febian Jembu here today.
Awang Tengah noted that GPS candidate Iskandar Turkee has been directed to engage with longhouses and urban communities in the Jepak area.
The upcoming Jepak by-election will feature a three-cornered fight involving GPS’s Iskandar, Stevenson Joseph Sumbang of Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), and Chieng Lea Ping from Parti Aspirasi Rakyat Sarawak (ASPIRASI).
