KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) Yusuf Abd Wahab managed to secure the Tanjong Manis parliamentary seat with a majority of 13,908 votes.
He garnered a total of 16,474 votes defeating his opponent, Pakatan Harapan (PH) Ustazah Zainab with 2,566 votes.
Yusuf retained his Tanjong Manis seat for a second term.
Meanwhile, the Kanowit parliamentary seat was secured by GPS’ Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang in a five-cornered fight, with a majority of 236 votes.
He retained the seat for his fifth term.
Aaron garnered a total of 7,411 votes by defeating PH’s Joseph Nyambong with 7,175 votes and Independent Michael Lias with 2,289 votes.
The other two Independent candidates George Chen and Dr Elli Luhat, lost their deposits after only garnering 741 and 427 votes respectively.
