BAU: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) must continue to lead the state to ensure that development plans in store for Bau area would be implemented.
Tasik Biru assemblyman Datuk Henry Harry Jinep said many infrastructure projects were being planned and would be implemented to develop Bau on par with other districts in the state.
“We have plans to construct a Tasik Biru Resort City… We have a private investor that wants to invest in Bau.
“… and I was also made to understand that the construction of a mall has been approved in Bau which would be in between the Bau Police Station and the Methodist Church here,” he said when officiating at the presentation of appointment letters to secretaries of JKKKs for Tasik Biru and Opar constituencies at Bau Civic Centre on Saturday.
He disclosed that there were also plans to build a golf course, a Hakka village and widening the road from Sibuluh to Bau town for which RM100,000 has already been approved.
“There will also be development of a three-star hotel with 88 rooms and the project is expected to commence soon.
“Furthermore, when the Serikin immigration post is completed, we will see more tourists from our neighbouring country visiting Bau,” he said.
Henry said it was important to ensure the development plans for the area were implemented accordingly so that Bau and the surrounding villages will enjoy all kinds of facilities.
“There are many development plans that will be carried out to boost the development in Bau area. The main purpose is to provide job opportunities for our children at the same time improve the social economy in the villages.
“I hope all the community leaders, the JKKKs and the District Office will continue to work together so that Bau will not lag behind in terms of development,” he pointed out.
He reminded the community leaders that it was important for GPS to win the upcoming 12th State Election so that more developments could be rolled out.
“I am confident you all will ensure that we (GPS) must continue to win the Tasik Biru seat including winning the Opar seat,” said Henry.
