GUA MUSANG: Gua Musang MP from Bersatu Mohd Azizi Abu Naim has expressed his support for the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim effective yesterday.
He said the decision was made after examining and listening to the Budget 2024 tabled by the Prime Minister with the main goal of spurring economic recovery while also easing the financial burden of Malaysians.
“My decision is to ensure that the welfare of the people in my Parliamentary constituency is protected and so that they continue to receive various benefits including infrastructure improvements as I have requested for my constituency during my term of service,” he said in a statement posted on his Facebook page yesterday.
Mohd Azizi also expressed his support for the government’s initiatives to prioritise the welfare of the people until the next general election.
“Honestly, I have no intention of leaving or betraying Bersatu, but to ensure that my Gua Musang constituency’s (development) is in line with the Federal government, it is appropriate for me to be a part of the leadership in Putrajaya led by Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
“For the people of Gua Musang, whom I love very much, let’s pray together that Allah always blesses our land and we receive the development we aspire for,” he said.
Mohd Azizi who is Bersatu’s Gua Musang Division chief, won the parliamentary seat by defeating Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah or Ku Li in the 15th general election (GE15).
Prior to this, Kuala Kangsar MP Datuk Iskandar Dzulkarnain Abdul Khalid and Labuan MP Datuk Dr Suhaili Abdul Rahman had also expressed support for Anwar. – BERNAMA
