KUALA LUMPUR: The Water, Land and Natural Resources Ministry has drawn up guidelines on logging in sensitive areas to tackle uncontrolled logging and timber output.
Its minister Dr Xavier Jayakumar said the guidelines were ready and the state governments would be informed about it.
“This is a proposal to ensure that when state governments allocate sensitive land for logging, they will follow the guidelines set. But whether they will follow the guidelines is up to them,” he told the Dewan Rakyat today. – Bernama
