MUKAH: The Civil Defence Force plays an important role in making valuable contribution to the community both locally and internationally.
Deputy Minister of Economy, Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib, who stated this highlighted the successful search and rescue missions conducted by them.
“Global warming has made the world’s climate unpredictable, leading to frequent disasters like floods, flash floods, and landslides in our country.
“In the 12the Malaysia Plan, the government aims to strengthen the country’s resilience to climate change and disasters.
“In order to enhance the coordination and disaster management system, involving all stakeholders including the Civil Defence Force is crucial for continuous improvement and strengthening,” she said.
She said this at the closing of a Non-Commissioned Officer Course of the Civil Defense Force in Sarawak, at the Centexs Multipurpose Hall, here, yesterday.
The Mukah Member of Parliament expressed her gratitude to all of the agency’s Sarawak members in the Central Zone, including Sibu, Kanowit, Selangau, Mukah, Matu, and Daro, for successfully finishing the course.
“I think this course and training is a way to motivate and inspire members to improve their performance.
“I also want to call on all members to maintain dedication and remain committed, maintain excellent service performance, be proactive and always be enthusiastic in carrying out the tasks that have been entrusted,” she explained.
Also present was Sarawak Civil Defence Deputy Director Lt. Col (PA) Raja Mohamad Al Hakim Raja Jaafar @ Raja Yaakub, Acting Mukah District Officer Peleadzman Ahip and Mukah District Civil Defense Officer Captain (PA) Zuriza Sharkawi.
