By Maya Green

With bare hands, and in regular shifts
Expend vigour, with those limbs of yours
Be fired with the Light, let it shine within
Fearing not frugality, for it is not a sin

It’s in the hard, honest labour
In the countryside, with its crisp air
Of serenity of the spirit, in solitude endowed
For, it’s just you and the Earth, connected

Understandably, but inexplicably
‘Tis a bonus well earned, and gifted;
An awe-inspiring health —
Of the body, mind and spirit

Only through hard, and honest work,
One will deservedly, reap
For ‘tis said, the happiness of man,
Lies in his toils

And the secret essence will follow,
In the sense of accomplishments!
It’s all in your own hands:
And in the glows, of your beads of sweats

Your skin is radiant, alive and breathing
Watch out for the wonderful feeling, it will surely follow;
Flowing like a mountain spring

See also  Compulsive politics

Tumbling over the rocks, and the stones,
In joyous delight, Moment by moment
In waves and recurring flows
Dancing in the eddies

Sparkling in the morning sun —
And singing in the evening glow
Yes, the singing of the praises!
Of honest, and faithful toils
