KUCHING: This year’s happy world health day theme is ‘Our Planet, Our Health’. This is in line with the state government’s efforts toward reaching its environmental sustainability goals.
This was confirmed by Deputy Premier Datuk Seri Dr Sim Kui Hian.
He said the goal for world health day is in line with the Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030 for Sarawak.
“Urgent actions are needed to keep humans healthy by taking care of the environment’s wellbeing.
“Happy World Health Day 2022, with this year’s theme, is “Our Planet, Our Health”,” he said in his social media post, today.
Sim added that World Health Organisation (WHO) estimates that more than 13 million deaths around the world each year are due to avoidable environmental causes.
Therefore, the state will the Sarawak Government continues to work towards environmental sustainability goals as part of Sarawak’s Post Covid-19 Development Strategy 2030.
World Health Day, celebrated on April 7 every year is a global health awareness day in conjunction to raise awareness about the ongoing health issues that concern people across the world.
The WHO made the first World Health Assembly in 1948 and established World Health Day.
