KUCHING: Assistant Minister for Early Childhood Education and Family Development Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali contributed RM5,000 to SMK Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce (TUNAZ) at Jalan Sultan Tengah for the purchase of projectors to help teachers in their teaching process.
The contribution was handed over by Hasidah when officiating at the school’s Parent-Teacher Association’s (PTA) annual general meeting here, yesterday.
“I feel very proud with the outstanding achievements of our children in public examinations. Congratulations to you for having achieved this success.
“Not forgeting the teachers who have been tirelessly committed in educating the students to ensure they can obtain excellent results.
“I am also aware that the responsibility of a teacher is not easy due to ever changing syllabus, students’ behaviours and so on,” she said.
Hasidah, who is also Samariang State Assemblywoman, also expressed her gratitude to parents for working with the PTA to assist children in improving their education.
She also congratulated the school for being able to send 36 students to Kampung Bedaun under the ‘Prihatin Ummah’ programme to assist the elderly and the disabled in the village.
“Such programme is an eye-opener for the students who will experience and see for themselves how the less fortunate live,” she pointed out.
Hasidah reminded the school to focus on Science, Mathematics and English subjects in line with the state government’s mission, and hoped the school would continue to be among the best schools in Sarawak and Malaysia.
