Hawkers to receive special grant soon

KUCHING: Operators at Song Kheng Hai Hawkers Centre will be receiving their Sarawakku Sayang Special Special Assistance (BKSS) 6.0 grant soon.

This was revealed by Jong Yean Pin who is with Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Kuching branch.

He said that he has been receiving numerous inquiries since the implementation of BKSS 6.0 in June.

“The special grant will be given to successful applicants in August via Sarawak Pay for those who submitted from June 1 to 30.

“After checking with the relevant department of Kuching South City Council (MBKS) in response to the inquiries, I am pleased to inform that the special grants will be released to everyone in the next few weeks.  So please be patient,” he said in a statement yesterday (Aug 19).

Jong had visited Song Kheng Hai Hawkers Centre to learn about the ground sentiments on yesterday morning and noticed that some have already received the BKSS 6.0 special grant.

“Some of the hawkers had told me that the special grant has come timely to soothe the difficulties that they are facing.

“Besides the hawkers, I will also be checking on the situation for other businesses like the barbers, market stall operators in Padungan as well,” he added.
