KUCHING: The Kuching and Samarahan Hawkers and Traders Association members paid a courtesy call on the Mayor of Kuching South City Council (MBKS), Dato James Chan at his office at Jalan Padungan here, yesterday.
Led by its Chairman, Chang Hot Chai, the purpose of the visit was to brief the mayor about the association. According to Chang, currently the association has a total of 658 members since its establishment in 1955
. The association members also took the opportunity to wish the mayor and his staff a merry Christmas and happy new year.
On a related matter, Chang who is also the Hui Sing Hawkers Committee Chairman said that they will organise a charity event on Jan 5, 2018 at 10.30am at Hui Sing Hawker Centre.
Meanwhile, Chan commended the Hui Sing Hawkers Committee for such initiative and noted that so far, it isthe only hawker centre in MBKS area conducting such charity event.
